Understand Scorpions Before You Draw One

Drawings of scorpions

Before you can draw a scorpion, you need to understand how does a scorpion look like first.

Did you know that scorpions have two eyes in the center of the head and two to five extra eyes located along the front sides? Regardless, these eyes are poorly developed so they are quite incapable of focusing sharply and thus useless for detecting prey and enemies.

Scorpions that can climb on vertical surfaces are usually bark scorpions. Harmless scorpions do not climb. Most scorpions take on average three years to reach adulthood, and then they can live for another three years. So the total lifespan of scorpions is six years.

Scorpions are nocturnal creatures and they prefer to live in warm areas. Scorpions will first catch their prey in their claws and if their prey is strong, they will paralyze it with their stinger.
